What if my photo is not perfect?
Do not stress, send me your best, and I will work with it. The carving is only as good as the image you send. If the photo is blurry, dark, or low resolution, I cannot pull details out of thin air. The better the picture, the more lifelike and detailed your carving will be.
Do you only carve pets?
No. Landscapes, instruments, cars, wedding shots, if it tells your story, I will carve it.
How long does it take?
Most commissions are completed within 3 to 4 weeks. Rush options available.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. While shipping is included in the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, and international destinations require a custom quote. I’ll work with you to get the safest and most cost-effective option to your door.
Is shipping insured?
Yes. All pieces are shipped with tracking and insurance for peace of mind. Once it leaves my hands, you’ll know exactly where it is until it arrives in yours.
What kind of wood do you use?
I carve on reclaimed doors, fence boards, and forgotten scraps of lumber. Every plank comes with a story before I ever touch it with my tools. That history, the dents and grain lines, is part of what makes your carving one-of-a-kind.
Will the wood warp or crack over time?
No need to worry. I select and prep each board to last. The finishes I use protect against cracking or warping, so your piece will hang proudly for years to come.
Do I get to see progress photos?
Most people love the surprise of the reveal, but if you’d like to see the work mid-way, I’m happy to send a preview.
Do you require payment up front?
Yes. Each commission is carved to order and requires payment before I begin. For larger pieces, we can discuss a deposit and balance plan.
What if I’m not happy with the final carving?
Every piece is made by hand, which means it carries the marks of the craft. My goal is to capture the spirit and presence of your pet or subject. If something feels off when you receive it, reach out and we’ll work together to make it right.
How do I hang or display the piece?
Each piece comes ready to hang, with sturdy hardware on the back. Just pick the wall where your memory belongs.
Do I need to treat or protect the wood?
No special care is needed. A light dusting now and then keeps it looking sharp. Avoid long hours in direct sunlight or damp areas.
Can you ship it directly to someone as a gift?
Yes. I can send your carving straight to the recipient, and if you’d like, I’ll include a handwritten note from you.
